Job summary

Woollahra Council is seeking an Operational Worker to support civil works at the Fletcher Street depot, near Bondi Junction. You will perform labouring tasks including asphalting, drainage and concreting to uphold local infrastructure across the Woollahra LGA.

We value teamwork, safety, and commitment to continuous improvement, with a 6am–3pm Monday–Friday schedule and a fortnightly rostered day off. A positive attitude and customer service mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Current MR Driver's Licence or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• WorkCover WHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Whitecard).
• Demonstrated skills in civil maintenance and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out labouring and civil maintenance tasks (asphalting, drainage, concreting).
• Maintain civil infrastructure across Woollahra LGA in a collaborative team.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and safety standards to deliver quality work.

• Salary up to $79,298 pa + 12% Super + additional $2,726 allowance
• Convenient location - steps from Bondi Junction train station
• 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday + fortnightly rostered day off

About the role

We have multiple exciting opportunities for skilled Operational Workers to join our growing Civil Works Team based at the Fletcher Street depot in Woollahra, minutes from Bondi Junction Train Station.

Reporting to the Civil Works Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with your team to carry out various labouring duties and civil maintenance tasks associated with construction (such as asphalting, drainage and concreting works) in order to maintain the civil infrastructure throughout the Woollahra Local Government Area.

About you

We are looking for people that are a true all rounder, able to work both autonomously and as part of a dynamic team to meet deadline. You will be a high achiever with:

• Current MR Driver's Licence, or able to successfully obtain within the first three months of employment.
• Workcover WH&S General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Whitecard).
• Demonstrated skills and experience in a range of civil maintenance duties
• Proven ability to carry out work in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed to the required standards in a safe and efficient manner.
• Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles and relevant legislation.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with the public in high profile areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Commitment to a culture of continuous improvement.
