What You Will DoOperate excavators and attachments across civil and commercial sites
Prepare, sort and move concrete, asphalt, soil and fill materials
Feed and manage material through crushing and screening equipment
Assist with operating jaw crushers, impact crushers, screens, conveyors and stackers
Monitor plant performance, feed flow and finished product quality
Complete pre‑start inspections, cleaning, greasing and routine servicing
Diagnose equipment faults and complete practical repairs within your capabilities
Assist with wear‑part, belt, screen and component changes
Maintain plant records and promptly report significant defects
Follow SWMS, isolation procedures and workplace safety requirements
Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors and other contractors
Assist with site setup, cleaning and labouring duties when required
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their equipment, patiently works through problems instead of immediately relying on someone else to resolve them, and that has the right attitude to learn and grow within the business.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Approximately four to five years of civil or commercial excavator operating experience
Some experience or working knowledge of jaw crushers, impact crushers or screening equipment
Practical mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools
Experience completing plant inspections, fault finding and minor repairs
Strong workplace health and safety knowledge
A patient, persistent and solutions‑focused approach
A reliable work ethic and stable employment history
The ability to work independently while supporting a small team
A professional approach when working on customer sites
A Construction Industry White Card and current driver licence
Relevant plant tickets, VOCs or mechanical qualifications are desirable
$55–$60 per hour, depending on experience and capability
