Job summary

Sydney Crushing & Screening seeks experienced Civil Excavator and Crushing Operators to join our growing team. Multiple positions are available.

This hands-on operator role requires you to diagnose faults, perform practical repairs, and manage material through crushing and screening equipment on civil and commercial sites in Sydney and wider NSW. A White Card and valid licence are essential, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Approximately four to five years of civil or commercial excavator operating experience.
• Experience with jaw crushers, impact crushers or screening equipment.
• Practical mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools.
• Experience completing plant inspections and minor repairs.
• Strong WHS knowledge and safe work practices.
• Construction Industry White Card and current driver licence.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and attachments across civil and commercial sites.
• Prepare, sort and move concrete, asphalt, soil and fill materials.
• Feed and manage material through crushing and screening equipment.
• Assist with operating jaw crushers, impact crushers, screens, conveyors and stackers.
• Monitor plant performance, feed flow and finished product quality.
• Complete pre-start inspections, cleaning, greasing and routine servicing.
• Diagnose equipment faults and complete practical repairs within capabilities.
• Assist with wear-part, belt, screen and component changes.
• Maintain plant records and report significant defects promptly.
• Follow SWMS, isolation procedures and workplace safety requirements.
• Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors and other contractors.
• Assist with site setup, cleaning and labouring duties when required.
