Job summary

Amey Australia is seeking an early-career Civil Designer or Graduate Engineer in Townsville to assist with land development projects from concept to detailed documentation. You will design residential subdivisions and civil infrastructure, and collaborate with experienced designers to develop practical, compliant solutions.

You will gain hands-on experience with roads, earthworks, stormwater, water and sewer networks while benefiting from mentoring and a supportive team environment in Queensland.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in civil design or near completing a Civil Engineering degree.
• Exposure to land development projects in Queensland.
• Experience preparing designs or documentation for authority submissions.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and 12d Model.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Reporting to the Design Team Lead - Townsville, you will be part of a dynamic design team delivering land development projects from concept through to detailed documentation.

• Assist in the design and documentation of residential subdivisions and civil infrastructure projects
• Prepare designs for roads, earthworks, stormwater, water and sewer networks
• Contribute to project deliverables and design documentation
• Work closely with Senior Designers and Engineers to develop practical and compliant solutions
• Support authority approvals and submission processes where required
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes
• Continue developing your technical and professional capabilities through mentoring and on-the-job learning

About You

• We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to build a long-term career in civil design and land development.
• Approximately 1+ years’ experience in civil design, or close to completing a Civil Engineering degree
• Exposure to land development projects in Queensland
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and 12d Model
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
• Experience preparing designs or documentation for authority submissions
• Understanding of local government development requirements
• Ability to collaborate effectively within project and design teams
