Job summary

Amey Australia is seeking a Civil Designer to own project work from concept to delivery in our Rockhampton office. You will design, draft and coordinate project information, liaising with managers and external stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

You’ll be responsible for producing civil designs and documentation that support project delivery from start to finish. Working closely with the General Manager, Project Managers and Senior Designers, your day-to-day will include designing, drafting and coordinating project information.

• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations and documentation
• Use tools like 12d and AutoCAD to deliver accurate, compliant designs
• Liaise with councils, authorities and external stakeholders
• Manage and maintain project documentation and drawing registers
• Support project timelines by working efficiently and flagging risks early
• Provide guidance to Cadet Designers and Drafters within the team

What we’re looking for

• Around 3+ years’ experience in civil design/drafting
• Practical experience using AutoCAD and 12d Model
• Strong understanding of engineering design principles, standards and approvals processes
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and a sense of ownership over your work

Nice to have

• An associate degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Experience liaising with local councils or state authorities
