Job summary

The Magistrates Court Barwon South West region is seeking a qualified professional to support recovery, stability and wellbeing for clients. You will deliver holistic case management and coordinate access to services within a multidisciplinary Court Support Services team.

Applicants should have a relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma level or higher) and demonstrated experience with clients who have complex needs in mental health, disability, substance use, family violence, or homelessness.

Qualifications

The role aims to support recovery, stability and improved wellbeing while providing relief support across courts within the Barwon South West region.

Key responsibilities

• Working with clients experiencing complex mental health, disability, substance use, family violence and social support challenges, you will provide holistic support that promotes engagement, reduces risk and improves outcomes.
• As part of a multidisciplinary Court Support Services team, you will build strong relationships with clients, community service providers, legal stakeholders and the judiciary to coordinate tailored support plans and facilitate access to appropriate services.
• In this role, you will: Identify and manage client risks through effective intervention and harm‑minimisation strategies.
• Deliver strengths‑based case management to clients with complex psychosocial needs.

What you need

• A relevant tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma level, degree highly regarded) in social work, psychology, welfare, alcohol and other drugs, community services, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience providing case management to clients with complex and intersecting needs, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: mental health, acquired brain injury, disability, alcohol and other drug use, family violence, or homelessness.
• Strong knowledge of mental health, disability and community service systems, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.
