Christian Studies Teacher/Assistant Chaplain

NBCS is seeking to appoint a dynamic person to the role of Christian Studies Teacher with the equivalent of a day per fortnight allocation to work as an Assistant Chaplain. This role will be full-time commencing Term 1, 2027.

Role:

This role will be an advocate for the Christian faith:

• teaching Secondary Christian Studies Years 7 -12
• contributing to Christian Ministry, for Years K-6 and 7-12 respectively
• supporting wellbeing initiatives, working pastoral with students, families and staff
• preparing, leading and speaking at public gatherings such as Chapel and parent events
• actively contributing to the co-curricular life of the School

Requirements:

• active and prayerful Christian faith consistent with Christian beliefs
• exceptional understanding of young people
• highly relational approach that engages students, parents, and staff
• intellectual strength, professional integrity, and sound judgement
• sensitive approach, considerate of the current cultural climate
• either NESA accreditation, or recognised theological study (for non-teacher)
• organised, productive, flexible, and approachable in a dynamic context
• willingness and capacity for active co-curricular involvementYouth ministry experience will be well regarded
