As our highly valued Chief Information Officer, you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads TIQ's technology, cyber security, digital transformation, data and information management, and artificial intelligence (AI) functions. The role provides strategic leadership, governance and expert advice to ensure TIQ's digital and technology environment is secure, resilient, compliant and aligned with organisational priorities.

The successful candidate will be a strategic and influential leader with strong stakeholder engagement skills, proven experience advising executives, and the ability to build trusted relationships, drive organisational change and deliver results in complex environments.

Based in Brisbane, here’s what your role will involve:

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision - Demonstrated ability to think strategically and set the long-term direction for digital, technology, cyber security, data and information management strategies and artificial intelligence initiatives, while balancing operational priorities, risks, opportunities and emerging business needs.
  • Executive ICT Leadership - Proven experience leading enterprise-wide technology, digital transformation, cyber security and data and information management strategies within a complex public sector, government or regulated environment, delivering innovative solutions that support organisational objectives and long-term capability.
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance Expertise - Extensive knowledge of Queensland Government digital, cyber security, information management, privacy, records management, data governance and procurement requirements, with the ability to apply these obligations effectively in business decision-making.
  • Influence and Decision-Making - Demonstrated ability to influence executives, boards, governance committees, stakeholders and suppliers to make informed decisions that balance innovation, risk, compliance, cost, usability and organisational outcomes.
  • Executive Communication and Stakeholder Management - Highly developed communication, negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, provide clear executive advice, and operate effectively in complex, high-pressure and politically sensitive environments.
  • Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Leadership - Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including generative AI, automation and advanced analytics, with demonstrated experience leading AI, digital innovation or emerging technology initiatives that deliver measurable organisational benefits while addressing governance, risk, security and ethical considerations.
How you’ll shape the future

Our work is varied and complex. So, as we evolve, we’re looking for people from diverse backgrounds who want to make an impact, help us challenge the status quo and keep connecting TIQ’s people and culture so that together, we can thrive. We would love you to have:
