Job summary

The George Hotel in Bathurst NSW is seeking hardworking chefs to join their team in a full-time permanent role. Located in Bathurst, the hotel offers a modern pub experience and strong kitchen operations.

You will prepare diverse cuisines, maintain high presentation, assist with menu planning, and ensure food safety and OHS compliance. The role also involves training junior cooks and managing daily kitchen activities and ordering to keep stock healthy.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery.
• Ability to excel in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
• Proactive, energetic and shares a passion for the hospitality industry.
• Possess effective communication skills with an approachable manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of cuisines to recipes.
• Contribute to menu planning and maintain high presentation standards.
• Train and manage cooks and kitchen staff.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and quality.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000 a year Located in the tree-lined hub of Bathurst NSW, The George Hotel offers a sophisticated and modern pub experience that is rare to the local area. Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Skills in preparing different variety of cuisine
• Creativity and high presentation standards Ability to create dishes with consistency
• Skilled in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes
• Ability to contribute to menu planning Understanding of food safety and OHS requirements Train and manage cooks and kitchen staff
