Job summary

Gemelli Italian Broadbeach on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in a permanent full-time role. You will prepare, cook and present dishes to our standards while contributing to menu development and kitchen efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or Cert IV/Kitchen Management) and has 1 year of chef experience with qualification or 2-3 years without. You should work well under pressure and thrive in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Commercial Cookery or Cert IV/Kitchen Management preferred.
• Experience in a chef role with or without relevant qualification as specified.
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to our standards.
• Creating menus with flair while considering stock, season and patron preferences.
• Ensure patron satisfaction by delivering dishes to expectation and monitoring quality.
• Monitor stock levels, preservation and rotation/ordering to minimise wastage.
• Assist and train kitchen staff in dish preparation and techniques.
• Aid in selecting and training kitchen staff and ensure health regulations are met.

Gemelli Italian Broadbeach ( Gemelli Resources Pty Ltd ), Gold coast, Queensland is looking to immediately fill a permanent full-time position of Chef.

Theduties you will be expected to complete in this position include but are not limited to:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes as per our standards
• Creating menus with flair and innovation having regard to our stock, season and patron preferences
• Ensure patron satisfaction & experience by delivering dishes to expectation monitoring quality at all times
• Monitoring stock level, preservation and rotation/ordering accordingly to ensure minimal wastage
• Assisting and training kitchen staff in understanding dish preparation, ingredients and cooking techniques
• Aiding in the selection and training of kitchen staff
• Ensuring health regulations are met at all times by all kitchen staff

We would like you to possess the following:

• Cert III in Commercial Cookery or/and cert IV or Kitchen Management (preferred)
• At least 1 year of work experience in a chef role (if has a relevant qualification) or at least 2-3 years of experience if does not hold any relevant qualification
• Be consistent and able to work well in a team
• Be able to perform well under pressure
