Vanilla Cakes and Coffee Lounge in Oakleigh is seeking a qualified and experienced chef to join our family-run kitchen. The role requires a culinary qualification and at least two years of hands-on cooking experience in a busy environment.

You will plan menus with the owner, prepare meals, supervise junior cooks, and ensure hygiene standards are met. Weekend work is part of the schedule and a passion for cooking is essential to thrive in our fast-paced cafe.

Responsabilidades

• Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs in consultation with the owner
• Preparing and cooking food
• Implementing staff rosters and supervising the activities of cooks and assistants
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, and other staff members
• Requisitioning food, kitchen supplies and equipment
• Portioning food, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene and food safety regulations
• Selecting and training staff
• Freezing and preserving foods

Vanilla Cakes and Coffee Lounge is seeking to hire a qualified and experienced chef. The ideal applicant will have a qualification and at least two years of experience as a chef. The suitable candidate must also have excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, experience working in a fast-paced kitchen and a strong passion and flair for cooking.

The duties and responsibilities associated with this position are as follows:

We are a family run business located in the heart of Eaton Mall, Oakleigh and close to public transport. Weekend work will be required.
