Job summary

Mavericks on the Bay, part of Parallel Hospitality Group PTY LTD, is seeking a Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen in Nelson Bay, NSW. You'll work with the Head Chef and kitchen team to consistently deliver high-quality seafood and modern Australian cuisine.

We're looking for someone with solid Chef de Partie experience, excellent cooking skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a busy service. Weekend and evening shifts are required on a rotating roster.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a qualified chef.
• Excellent cooking skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A team-focused attitude and clear communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as part of a rotating roster.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Managing your designated kitchen section efficiently and independently.
• Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Assisting with food preparation, stock rotation and inventory management.
• Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Contributing ideas to menu development and daily specials.
• Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen staff when required.
