Job summary

The Boat Shed Restaurant on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a qualified chef for a busy, full-time role in our kitchen. This hands-on position focuses on maintaining kitchen standards, delivering consistency during service, and working with a motivated team.

You will help plan menus, supervise junior staff, and ensure high standards of food quality and presentation while working nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified chef (cert III in commercial cookery or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
• Passion for food and dedication to quality.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Must be able to work night shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard set by the Head Chef.
• Participate in menu / specials planning and budgeting.
• Maintain excellent food presentation and consistency.
• Supervising and mentoring of junior kitchen staff;
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.

The Boat Shed is a popular a la carte restaurant perched on the edge of the Maroochy River at Cotton Tree on the Sunshine Coast renowned for our quality food and service and amazing views.

The Role:

Seeking a qualified chefon full-time basis. This is a hands-on role where you'll be maintaining kitchen standard, delivering consistency during service, and working as part of a motivated and supportive team.
