Job summary

Lutheran Services seeks a qualified Chef to lead a busy kitchen at St Andrew's Aged Care, Tallebudgera. You will prepare nutritious meals, manage dietary needs, and foster a team-focused, compliant kitchen environment.

The role requires aged care or large-scale catering experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of food safety and WHS. A Queensland Driver’s Licence and Police Check are preferred as part of the application.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant trade qualification in commercial cookery.
• Experience in aged care or large-scale catering is preferred.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential.

• Ensure a safe, clean, and efficient kitchen environment, maintaining hygiene and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with catering staff, residents, and care teams to enhance meal services.
• Lead and support kitchen staff, fostering a high-performance and team-driven culture.
• Manage kitchen finances, including menu planning, budgeting, and stock control.
• Evaluate and improve catering services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resident satisfaction.

Your Role - More Than Just Cooking As a Chefyou will:

What You Bring to the Table

• A relevant trade qualification (Cert III or Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent).
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen, ideally in Aged Care or large-scale catering.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to mentor and guide staff.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and WHS compliance.
• A valid Queensland Driver’s Licence.
• Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
