Job summary

genU is seeking a casual Chef to join our hospitality team at our North Geelong production kitchen. This hands-on role involves preparing quality food, supporting a diverse workforce and delivering consistent service across sites.

You'll work shifts from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with regular ongoing hours and opportunities across North, East and South Geelong sites. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and a valid driver's licence are required, with the role offering casual pay plus

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery required.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Availability to work across hours 6:00am–6:00pm, Monday–Friday.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to quality customer service.
• Experience in production kitchen or catering.
• Front of house, café or customer service experience.
• Experience with stock control and food ordering.

This is a hands-on role where you'll prepare quality food, support a diverse workforce and contribute to one of Geelong's largest production kitchens, while enjoying regular ongoing shifts and variety across multiple sites.

What you'll do

As a Chef in our Social Enterprises Hospitality team you'll:

• Prepare high-quality meals and food products in our large-scale production kitchen

What you'll bring

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

• Availability to work across operational hours between 6:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday
• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality customer service
• Previous experience in a production kitchen or catering environment
• Front of house, café or customer service experience
• Experience with stock control and food ordering

(You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate, but don't worry, we'll help guide you through this.)

This role is primarily based at genU's 800sqm production kitchen in North Geelong, with opportunities to work across our café sites in North, East and South Geelong.
