Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is seeking experienced Chefs and Cooks to join a well-established Japanese restaurant in Queensland, Australia. Roles include full-time, part-time, and casual shifts with visa sponsorship for suitable candidates and a pathway to long-term careers in Australia.

The successful applicants will work in a professional kitchen, prepare high-quality dishes, maintain exceptional standards, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant environment.
• Experience in Japanese cuisine highly regarded.
• Conversational English communication skills and visa sponsorship eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic Japanese dishes to consistently high standards.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning and presentation.
• Maintain food quality, freshness and consistency during service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
• Support stock rotation, storage and inventory control.
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Assist with menu preparation and daily specials when required.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to a positive, professional and team-focused workplace.
