Job summary

RFI Technology Solutions seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our Customer Experience team from our Seven Hills Office in Sydney. You will apply electrical engineering expertise to solar PV, BESS, and wireless coverage projects, ensuring designs are compliant with Australian Standards and fit for purpose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering, ideally in solar PV/BESS or wireless communications.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to electrical installations.
• Experience with system design, load/yield modelling, and component sizing.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills; structured approach.
• Strong communication skills to discuss technical options with customers.

Responsibilities

• Engineer grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid solar PV systems, including load analysis and battery sizing.
• Perform technical analysis to ensure interoperability and compliance with Australian Standards.
• Conduct diagnostics and root-cause analysis of in-field component failures.
• Assess designs for compliance with specifications, limitations and safety requirements.
• Integrate new equipment into existing electrical infrastructure for brownfield projects.
• Provide engineering consultation on solar and BESS tech to customers and internal teams.
• Support sales and Customer Experience teams with technical guidance from inquiry to delivery.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to work in a support role in our Customer Experience team based in our Seven Hills Office in Sydney. This onsite role applies electrical engineering knowledge to the design, analysis and support of solar PV, battery energy storage and wireless coverage systems, ensuring solutions are technically sound, compliant with Australian Standards and fit for purpose. As part of our customer experience transformation, the role also works closely with our Customer Experience Team and field sales team, providing engineering expertise directly to customers and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer grid-connected, off-grid and hybrid solar PV systems, including load analysis, energy yield modelling, PV array and inverter sizing, cable sizing and battery storage calculations
• Conduct technical analysis of system components and electrical parameters to ensure interoperability and compliance with Australian Standards
• Perform engineering diagnostics and root-cause analysis of in-field component failures
• Assess proposed designs for compliance with manufacturer specifications, product limitations and safety requirements
• Engineer solutions for brownfield projects, integrating new equipment into existing electrical infrastructure
• Provide engineering consultation on solar and BESS technologies to customers and internal departments
• Provide technical advice and support to the sales team and Customer Experience Team, including assisting customers with product selection and specification
• Support customers through all stages of their technical requirements, from initial enquiry to solution delivery

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering, ideally in solar PV, BESS, renewables or wireless communications
• Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to electrical and solar installations
• Experience with system design, load and yield modelling, and component sizing
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to diagnostics and root-cause analysis
• Strong communication skills and confidence discussing technical options directly with customers – by phone, not just email
• Ability to work well in a team environment with a customer-first approach
• Experience with CRM and ERP platforms (NetSuite / Oracle) highly regarded

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 + Super
