Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is seeking a Permanent Full-time Centre Director for our Leichhardt North location. This newly acquired 75-place service offers the opportunity to build your own team and establish operations from the ground up.

You will lead with a values‑based approach, supported by leadership teams, and benefit from above‑award pay, bonuses, and extensive professional development. A rostered day off every four weeks enhances work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Care is essential.
• Minimum 2 years in a Director or leadership role in an early learning setting.
• Strong knowledge of NQS, NQF and EYLF; ability to navigate assessment and rating.
• Demonstrated planning and documentation skills for learning programs.
• Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management, and Food Safety certificates.
• WWCC clearance and a commitment to Catholic education values.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a dedicated Centre Director team for Leichhardt North.
• Oversee setup of the newly acquired service and ongoing operations.
• Uphold high-quality education and care aligned with NQF/EYLF standards.

75 place Centre with 4 rooms. Street parking available.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a strong foundation in early childhood education, a passion for leadership, and a commitment to creating inclusive, values-based learning environments.

Qualifications:A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care is essential.

Leadership Experience:At least 2 years in a Director or leadership role within an early learning setting.

Assessment & Rating Expertise:Confident and capable in navigating the Assessment and Rating process with a deep understanding of quality improvement.

Planning & Documentation:A solid grasp of the Cycle of Planning and the ability to document and support children’s learning effectively.

Regulatory Knowledge:A strong working knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS), National Quality Framework (NQF), and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Current Certifications:Hold valid certifications in First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management, as well as a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

SCECS is a Child Safe Organisation dedicated to the Protection of every child in our care. SCECS aims to create environments where children’s safety and well-being is the centre of thought, values and actions. This role requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.
