Job summary

Goodstart Berowra is seeking a Part-Time Cook to prepare delicious, healthy meals for children, ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are met. You will plan menus, order supplies, and maintain strict food safety standards in a busy childcare setting.

The role offers a 30-hour roster across 5 days with a competitive hourly rate, well above the award, plus benefits including childcare fee discounts and wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or childcare cooking experience.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for National Child Safety Foundation Training (Geccko).

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals that meet dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan menus and order food supplies with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high food safety and hygienic storage/handling.
• Work a 30-hour part-time roster (7.5 hours per day over 5 days).

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time: 37.5 hours a week across 5 days – 7.5 hours each day

Pay: $31.36 to $35.44 per hour Plus Super

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Work a part-time roster of 30 hours per week, 8/8.30am to 2/2.30pm
