Job summary

Goodstart Berowra is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for children, ensuring dietary needs are met and food safety is maintained. You will plan menus with the Centre Director and support a welcoming community environment.

The role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or childcare cooking experience), a NSW Working with Children Check, and completion of the National Child Safety Foundation Training. Located at Goodstart Berowra, NSW.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or childcare cooking experience.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training (Geccko platform).

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals ensuring safety and accommodate dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan menu and order food with Centre Director.
• Maintain food safety standards in storage, handling and preparation.
• Work a part-time roster of 30 hours per week (8:00–14:30).

Centre: Goodstart Berowra

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time: 37.5 hours a week across 5 days – 7.5 hours each day

Pay: $31.36 to $35.44 per hour Plus Super

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Work a part-time roster of 30 hours per week, 8/8.30am to 2/2.30pm
