Job summary

Goodstart Ballajura is seeking a part-time cook to prepare delicious, nutritious meals for a 55-place centre. You will tailor menus to dietary needs, ensure food safety, and work with the Centre Director on ordering supplies.

You’ll join a supportive team and benefit from competitive pay (at least 5% above award), a 50% discount on childcare gap fees, paid parental leave, Fitness Passport access, wellbeing days and a uniform allowance.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting.
• Current WA Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Geccko platform.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies.
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic.
• Work a part-time roster of 25 hours per week, 8am – 1pm.

Employment Type: Permanent/Part Time – 25 hours Monday to Friday

Pay: Up to $35.44 p/h + super
