Job summary

Goodstart Bowen in Bowen, QLD is seeking a Centre Cook for a part-time role (25 hours per week, 8:30am–1:30pm). You will prepare nutritious meals, accommodate dietary needs, and contribute to healthy outcomes for children.

Responsibilities include planning menus, ordering supplies, and upholding strict food-safety standards to ensure hygienic preparation and storage. Prior childcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or have experience cooking in childcare.
• Current QLD Working with Children Check is required.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training via Geccko platform.

Pay: $31 - $35 per hr - DEpending on Qualifications and Experience

In This Role, You Will

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Work a part time roster of 25 hours per week, 8:30am – 1:30pm
