Job summary

Goodstart Caloundra is seeking a Centre Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children, ensuring dietary needs and safety guidelines are met. You will work closely with the Centre Director and Educators to create positive mealtime experiences.

Balanced with flexible, part-time hours, you’ll contribute to a supportive centre culture and promote wellbeing and healthy eating for children and families.

About the role

As the Centre Cook at Goodstart Caloundra, you'll be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks that support children's wellbeing and development.

Working closely with the Centre Director and Educators, you'll help create positive mealtime experiences while ensuring all food is prepared safely and in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety guidelines.

In this role, you'll:

• Prepare healthy and nutritious meals for children each day
• Cater for allergies, cultural needs, and special dietary requirements
• Plan menus and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
• Create positive mealtime experiences that encourage healthy eating habits
• Contribute to a welcoming and supportive centre community
• Work collaboratively with educators and centre leadership

What you'll bring

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within an early childhood education and care setting
• Current QLD Working with Children Check
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training via the Geccko platform
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Passion for creating nutritious meals and positive experiences for children
