Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning is seeking a Centre Cook for the GS Berrimah site in Berrimah, NT. This part-time role (25 hours weekly) focuses on preparing nutritious meals that support healthy growth for children.

You’ll plan menus with the Centre Director, ensure food safety, and accommodate dietary needs while enjoying competitive wages and staff benefits. Applicants must have a Food Safety certificate and a NT Working with Children Check.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or childcare cooking experience.
• Essential: Food safety handling certificate
• Current NT Working with Children Check
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Geccko platform

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals meeting dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan menus and order food supplies with Centre Director.
• Maintain high food safety standards in storage, handling and prep.
• Cook on a part-time roster, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30–2:00.

Pay: Up to $35.44 P/h + Super

In This Role, You Will

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies


• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director


• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic


• Work a Part time roster of 25 hours per week Monday-Friday 8:30-2pm weekdays only!
