Job summary

Four Seasons Hotels Sydney is seeking an experienced Catering Sales Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave. You will secure catering business across market segments, prospect new accounts, generate leads and maintain key relationships.

Responsibilities include driving sales, finalising bookings, coordinating with planning managers and hotel operations, and collaborating with AV and suppliers to ensure outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience in an events sales or catering role in a large operation.
• Excellent communication and ability to build rapport with internal and external clients.
• Strong negotiation, prioritisation and multitasking capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of the local Sydney market and hospitality landscape.
• Proficiency with standard computer systems used in event planning and sales.

About the Role of Catering Sales Manager:

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Catering Sales Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of parental leave. Working closely with and reportingto the Director of Catering & Conference Services, you will be responsible for securingCatering business across all market segments. You will create and prospect long lasting new accounts, generate leads and maintain key relationships.

We are looking for someone with superior communication skills, one who is able to vary their style to suit a wide internal audience whilst maintaining and strengthening relationships with key corporateclients and partners. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will have a hunger for results, a thirst for providing a memorable guest experience, be a savvy negotiator and influencer, a swift decision maker and will enjoy the challenge of multi-tasking whilst meeting tight deadlines.

What you will do:

• Driving Catering Sales by negotiating with clients to achieve maximum revenue/profit potential whilst satisfying our clients needs. Negotiating the type and costs of services to be provided within contract and budget
• Finalise all bookings, maximizing all revenue potential by upselling in all revenue producing areas
• Work closely with the catering planning managers and all key hotel operational departments to ensure the clients satisfaction
• Foster a strong working relationship with fellow sales and marketing team members to provide smooth and efficient planning in the lead up to conferences/events and group stays
• Work together with our on-site AV company to confirm audio visual needs for conferences and events, as well as other outside suppliers and contractors engaged by the client or hotel to provide services
• Coordinate and negotiate the sales efforts between sales department and catering to insure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues

What you will bring:

• At least 2 years previous experience in a events sales role in a large operation
• Able to prioritize and work through multiple files and tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and rapport building skills with internal and external clients
• Solid local market knowledge
• Sound knowledge of computer systems

The approximate annual salary for this role is $87k plus super/incentive/benefits.
