Cater Care is launching a new Trinity College catering team at the University of Melbourne, Parkville. This permanent part-time role offers varied weekday and weekend shifts, commencing January 2027, with remuneration aligned to the applicable award and classification.

You will assist with meal service, support kitchen operations and help deliver a welcoming dining experience for students, staff and guests.

gather by Cater Care is seeking friendly, reliable and customer-focused Catering Assistants to join our new food service operation at Trinity College, opening in January 2027.

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll help deliver smooth, efficient food service while supporting the kitchen team and creating a positive experience for students, staff and guests. From assisting with meal service and keeping dining areas clean to supporting kitchen operations, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of this university college environment.

With a range of weekday and weekend shifts available, this is an opportunity to join a new team and build your skills in a supportive hospitality environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, friendly and professional customer service, ensuring students, staff and guests feel welcomed and well looked after
• Assist with food and beverage service, responding to customer requests promptly and courteously
• Maintain clean, tidy and inviting dining and service areas to create a positive customer experience
• Support food preparation, meal service and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Work collaboratively with chefs and team members, following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures

What You Will Bring

• A positive, customer-focused attitude and a genuine willingness to help others
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional approach
• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, customer service or a commercial kitchen is advantageous
• The ability to follow instructions, work efficiently and adapt in a busy environment
• A reliable, team-oriented approach and a commitment to cleanliness, food safety and quality service
• A willingness to complete relevant pre-employment checks, including a National Police Check and Working With Children Check, as applicable

Available Rosters

We have a variety of permanent part-time roster options available:

• Weekday Catering Assistant: Monday to Friday, 7.00am-3.00pm | 38 hours per week
• Weekday Catering Assistant: Monday to Friday, 7.30am-2.30pm | 32.5 hours per week
• Weekend Catering Assistant: Saturday to Sunday, 3.30pm-8.30pm | 8 hours per week
• Weekend Catering Assistant: Saturday to Sunday, 7.00am-3.00pm | 15 hours per week
• Weekend Catering Assistant: Saturday to Sunday, 7.30am-2.30pm | 13 hours per week
