Cater Care is opening a new catering operation at Trinity College, University of Melbourne in Parkville, Victoria, commencing January 2027. As a Catering Assistant, you will support meal service, keep dining areas clean and assist kitchen operations to ensure a smooth, welcoming service for students, staff and guests.

We offer a range of permanent part-time rosters across weekdays and weekends, with training and development opportunities.

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll help deliver smooth, efficient food service while supporting the kitchen team and creating a positive experience for students, staff and guests. From assisting with meal service and keeping dining areas clean to supporting kitchen operations, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of this university college environment.

With a range of weekday and weekend shifts available, this is an opportunity to join a new team and build your skills in a supportive hospitality environment.

Job Description

Your Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, friendly and professional customer service, ensuring students, staff and guests feel welcomed and well looked after
• Assist with food and beverage service, responding to customer requests promptly and courteously
• Maintain clean, tidy and inviting dining and service areas to create a positive customer experience
• Support food preparation, meal service and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Work collaboratively with chefs and team members, following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, customer service or a commercial kitchen is advantageous

We have a variety of permanent part-time roster options available:

• Weekday Catering Assistant: Monday to Friday, 7.00am-3.00pm | 38 hours per week
• Weekday Catering Assistant: Monday to Friday, 7.30am-2.30pm | 32.5 hours per week
• Weekend Catering Assistant: Saturday to Sunday, 3.30pm-8.30pm | 8 hours per week
• Weekend Catering Assistant: Saturday to Sunday, 7.00am-3.00pm | 15 hours per week
• Weekend Catering Assistant: Saturday to Sunday, 7.30am-2.30pm | 13 hours per week
