Job summary

RSL LifeCare in NSW is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our residential care teams. You will work with the Head Chef to deliver high-quality meals for veterans and seniors, while maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area.

The role emphasises compassion, teamwork and excellent resident service. Prior catering experience is beneficial, Australian Working Rights required, and a supportive, not-for-profit workplace offers opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated compassion and empathy for residents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen and dining area.
• Australian Working Rights; a catering or hospitality qualification is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef and catering team to deliver high-quality meals.
• Maintain Food Safety Standards and kitchen cleanliness.
• Serve residents and visitors; accommodate dietary needs.
• Keep dining and kitchen areas organized and hygienic.
• Provide friendly, responsive resident service.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver a positive dining experience.

• Work closely with the catering team and the Head Chef to provide high quality catering services for residents and their visitors
• Comply with Food Safety Standards
• Maintain a clean, efficient, and professional work environment; dishwashing and cleaning the kitchen, equipment and dining areas
• Demonstrate a customer service mindset when interacting with residents, their families and visitors
• Serve residents meals and snacks ensuring that the correct meals are served to residents with special dietary needs
• Build strong and productive relationships with your team to deliver a positive dining experience

• Australian Working Rights

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
