Job summary

Rocky Gardens Motor Inn is seeking a friendly and professional receptionist to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Rockhampton, Queensland, you will welcome guests, manage check-ins/outs and bookings, and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready.

The role requires strong communication, reliability and the ability to multitask across bookings platforms and financial transactions. We provide on-the-job training and flexible hours to suit personal commitments.

Qualifications

• Previous reception or customer service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service.
• Proficiency in using reception and booking management software, or willingness to learn quickly.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with multiple tasks and guest requests.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to casual work arrangements.
• Attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial transactions and administrative work.
• A friendly, approachable demeanor and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Manage guest check-ins, check-outs and room allocations.
• Handle reservations, cancellations and booking amendments.
• Answer phone calls, emails and guest enquiries promptly.
• Process payments, deposits, refunds and issue invoices.
• Manage online bookings through Booking.com, Expedia and other platforms.
• Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are clean and ready.
• Handle guest complaints, requests and special requirements professionally.
• Maintain accurate records, daily reports and financial transactions.
• Report maintenance issues, follow safety procedures and keep reception tidy.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required to meet business needs and operational requirements.
