Job summary

Lithgow City Council is seeking a Casual Customer Service Officer to provide prompt, friendly and accurate front-line service from the Lithgow office. You will welcome customers, assist with enquiries and handle complaints in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Reporting to the Senior Customer Service Officer, the role involves cash handling, processing forms, and coordinating bookings while supporting multiple council services for the local community.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering quality customer service to internal and external customers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with cash receipting and reconciliations.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• Holder of a Class C Drivers Licence.
• Commitment to integrity and safety practices.
• Understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other Council departments.
• Assist with high-volume enquiries by phone, website, counter and email.
• Receive and resolve complaints and information requests.
• Handle rates and water billing enquiries and payments.
• Balance payments and remittances at front counter.
• Manage bookings for council facilities.
• Process certificates and related applications.
• Assist customers with payment plans and service forms.
