Job summary

Palm Lake Care Bethania is seeking an experienced and creative Chef to join our hospitality team on a casual basis, delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and guests while upholding food safety standards.

You will lead kitchen operations, supervise cooks and staff, tailor menus to dietary needs, and collaborate with the Chef Manager on feedback and events. A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and 3+ years of chef experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working as a chef
• Current Food Safety Certificate
• Ability to supervise kitchen staff
• Knowledge of Aged Care Accreditation Standards and IDDSI guidelines
• Experience in menu planning and presentation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• National Police Check

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality, nutritious meals for residents and guests
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and accreditation standards
• Cater for special diets and cultural requirements under guidelines
• Monitor waste, manage portions, and control stock rotation
• Assist with ordering, delivery checks, and stock management
• Supervise Cooks and Food Service Assistants and promote teamwork
• Liaise with Chef Manager on feedback, menu changes, and events
• Deputise for Chef Manager in their absence
• Maintain high hygiene standards for kitchen and cleaning duties
