Job summary

Palm Lake Care Mt Warren Park is seeking an experienced and creative Chef to join our hospitality team on a Part Time/Casual basis. You’ll deliver nutritious, high-quality meals and an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests.

You will bring at least 3 years of Chef experience, a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and a current Food Safety Certificate. Supervision of kitchen staff and knowledge of aged care standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Current Food Safety Certificate.
• Knowledge of Aged Care Accreditation Standards and IDDSI texture and fluid guidelines.
• Ability to supervise kitchen staff.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present nutritious meals per approved menus.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and accreditation standards.
• Cater for special diets and culturally or religiously required meals.
• Monitor wastage, ensure portions, and minimize waste.
• Assist with ordering, delivery checks and stock rotation.
• Supervise Cooks and Food Service Assistants and promote teamwork.
• Liaise with Chef Manager on feedback, menu changes and events.
• Deputise for the Chef Manager when absent.
• Maintain high hygiene standards in kitchen and cleaning duties.
