Job summary

Serco is seeking a Case Planning Officer for Clarence Correctional Centre, Australia’s largest correctional facility on the NSW North Coast. You will manage inmates’ cases, assess risks and needs, and help develop plans to reduce reoffending while supporting transitions from prison to community.

You’ll work with custodial and probation teams to promote rehabilitation, maintain safety and apply Serco’s values in every interaction, reporting on case progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Criminology, Social Work or Social Sciences.
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management) or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience in case management and rehabilitation/reintegration practices.
  • Exposure to criminal justice system or similar human services.
  • Competent level of computer literacy and report-writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

About Clarence Correctional Centre

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed, state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional centre in Australia.

Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast, approximately six hours’ drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane, our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of Australia’s best beaches, along with multicultural cafés, restaurants and friendly community towns.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Have
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Criminology, Social Work or Social Sciences, or relevant industry experience in a similar role
  • Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Case Management), or the ability to complete it within the first 12 months of employment
  • Experience in case management and/or rehabilitation and reintegration practices
  • Exposure to the criminal justice system or similar human services
  • A competent level of computer literacy and report-writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
