Serco seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver frontline clinical care to Eligible Personnel at Robertson Barracks, Holtze. You will work within Defence Health Services, ensuring care aligns with professional standards, legislation, and Defence policies, including triage and clinical documentation.
The role promotes infection control and coordination of sick parades, medical appointments, and record-keeping across electronic and paper systems, with on-base support and governance
Qualifications
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 12 months full-time post-graduate experience within the previous 5 years in an acute care, primary health care or military setting.
- Ability to deliver high-quality clinical care in line with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
- Experience in triage, assessment, and management of patient care in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of AHPRA codes, guidelines, and statements for registered nurses.
- Ability to coordinate/supervise sick parades, medical appointments, and maintain clinical records in electronic and paper formats.
- Understanding of infection control practices and compliance with Defence and Australian Standards.

Robertson Health Centre is located on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, 15km east of Darwin. It is home to the 1st Brigade & 1st Aviation Regiment. The facility has a routine dependency of approximately 2800 members, with a large reserve component. The Barracks also accommodates an additional 2500 US marines every 6 months from May to September. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, dental, physiotherapy and mental health services. It also operates a 22-bed low dependency ward 24/7. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
- You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
- You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
