Job summary

Community Housing Limited (CHL) invites applications for a permanent full-time Caretaker based in Hampton or Brighton. Join our facilities team to maintain safe, well-kept residential assets and support residents with friendly service.

You will perform handyperson tasks, cleaning, and coordinate with contractors while upholding CHL safety policies. We foster an inclusive, purpose-driven workplace with opportunities to make a social impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, janitorial or handyperson roles.
• Strong planning, organisation and time management abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with openness to working with people from all walks of life.
• Ability to take responsibility, work independently and manage multiple tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

• Performing general handyperson tasks (minor repairs, painting, upkeep).
• Daily cleaning to maintain neat and hygienic residential areas.
• Supporting preventative maintenance programs and liaising with contractors.
• Conducting regular site inspections and reporting issues.
• Assisting with resident move-ins and move-outs.
• Responding promptly to resident service requests.
• Providing friendly, professional customer service with a diverse range of residents.
• Ensuring safe working practices in line with CHL health and safety policies.
