Job summary

Uniting Griffith invites applications for a Care Worker in Residential Aged Care. Based at Uniting Griffith, NSW, you will provide care, companionship and support to residents to promote independence and quality of life, with regular shifts available.

You will assist with daily living tasks, mobility, personal hygiene and meals, support activities, and may assist with medications. A Certificate III/IV in Aged Care is required, with a compassionate, adaptable approach and a commitment to

  • Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in aged or community care preferred or a genuine interest in starting a career in aged care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to promote independence and quality of life.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meal support and mobility.
  • Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
  • Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

About Uniting Griffith

Uniting Griffithhas 3 separate households, each with between 17 and 30 residents, including a Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia.Our Leisure and Lifestyle Team ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

We're transitioning toHousehold Living – our innovative approach to care – which will empower our residents to live their way, just as they would in any family home.

  • You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
  • Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
  • Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
  • Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.
Who we’re looking for
  • You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
  • You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassion­ate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
