Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is offering casual and part-time roles across the South Coast region, including Farmborough, Shellharbour, Gerringong, Berry and Nowra. You will provide compassionate in-home and residential care, support daily living, and help residents maintain independence and dignity in a flexible, supportive workplace.

Ideal applicants may hold a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or be working towards it; prior aged care experience helps, but enthusiasm and reliability are valued.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent; if not yet qualified, support to obtain qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care is beneficial or a strong desire to begin a career in aged care.
• Adaptable, empathetic, flexible and aligned with Uniting's values (compassionate, respectful, imaginative, bold).

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to maintain independence and improve quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities including showering, personal hygiene, dressing and mobility aids.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

CASUAL AND PERMANENT PART TIME ROLES BASED ACROSS UNITING SOUTH COAST REGION FACILITIES; FARMBOROUGH, SHELLHARBOUR, GERRINGONG, BERRY, NOWRA

• Up to $36.23 p/h+ super, penalties, tax benefits plus casual loading
• Great opportunities for qualified and unqualified carers
• Casual role with the ability to work up to 76 hours per fortnight
• Working across Uniting facilities in our South Coast region; Farmborough, Shellharbour, Gerringong, Berry, Nowra

What You’ll Be Doing In This Role

• Our Uniting Household Model of care empowers our residential care teams with freedom to support our residents in ways that help them maintain a sense of meaning and purpose in their day. As a Carer in a household, you’ll provide care, companionship, and emotional support to residents to help support their independence and improve their quality of life, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who We’re Looking For

• Ideally, you’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support or an equivalent qualification. PLEASE NOTE: If you’re not currently qualified and would like to be, then we can help you get there. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, flexible and resourceful and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Must be able to transport yourself by car or public transport.
