Job summary

Uniting is hiring casual care workers to support residents in our aged care home in Berry, NSW. You will provide care, companionship and support to enhance independence and quality of life, including daily living tasks and medication assistance.

Successful candidates will have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent, with passion for aged care. The role offers varied shifts, a supportive work environment and benefits such as rewards programs and referral incentives.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aged or community care preferred or willingness to start in aged care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities: showering, personal hygiene, dressing, mealtimes and mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

• Casual Positions Available - Varied shift availability.
• Up to $32.86 p/h + super + casual loading.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
