Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking compassionate Home Care Workers to support clients in their own homes across the Hawkesbury region on a casual basis. You will help with daily tasks, personal care, meals, and companionship to help clients maintain independence with dignity.

You will bring empathy, reliability and strong communication. Required NSW Driver’s Licence, a suitable vehicle, First Aid/ CPR, vaccinations recommended, and basic tech literacy.

Qualifications

  • Valid NSW Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current accredited First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccinations recommended.
  • Basic computer and smartphone literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality in-home support to clients to maintain independence.
  • Assist with daily tasks, personal care, meals, and transport as needed.
  • Offer emotional support, companionship and community engagement.
  • Maintain safe, respectful environments and accurate records.

As a valued Home Care Worker at Anglicare we have opportunities to work across the Hawkesbury region on a Casual Basis.

You will provide compassionate, high-quality support to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain independence and live with dignity.

You will assist with daily tasks, offer emotional support, and provide meaningful companionship. Your care will ensure clients feel safe, respected, and valued in the comfort of their own environment.

With kindness and understanding, you will provide:

Domestic Assistance – Supporting with household chores such as washing, ironing, vacuuming, and dusting.

Meal Preparation – Assisting with planning, preparing, and cooking meals.

Personal Care Support – Helping with showering, dressing, grooming, and other personal hygiene needs.

Social Engagement – Providing companionship and encouraging participation in social activities and community engagement.

Transport Services – Offering transport for appointments, shopping trips, and social outings.

What you’ll bring

What’s Required:

  • Valid NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Reliable NSW C Class Motor Vehicle for travel between customer locations
  • Current accredited First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations (highly recommended)
  • Basic computer and smartphone literacy

What’s Preferred:

  • Previous experience in Home Care or Disability Support
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging, Home, and Community). Highly preferred

You will also have:

  • Patience – staying calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Communication – clear and respectful interaction with clients and families
  • Reliability – being dependable and consistent in care delivery
