Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Home Care Worker to deliver compassionate support to clients in their own homes across the City East region on a casual basis. Your role will help clients maintain independence and live with dignity, providing daily tasks, emotional support and meaningful companionship.

You will contribute through Domestic Assistance, Meal Preparation, Personal Care, Social Engagement and Transport Services, ensuring clients feel safe, respected and valued in their own environment.

Responsibilities

• Domestic assistance: assist with household tasks (washing, ironing, vacuuming, dusting).
• Meal preparation: plan, prepare and cook meals.
• Personal care support: assist with showering, dressing and grooming.
• Social engagement: provide companionship and encourage participation in activities.
• Transport services: provide transport for appointments, shopping and outings.

Your opportunity

As a valued Home Care Worker at Anglicare we have opportunities to work across the City East region on a Casual Basis. You will provide compassionate, high-quality support to clients in their own homes, helping them maintain independence and live with dignity. You will assist with daily tasks, offer emotional support, and provide meaningful companionship. Your care will ensure clients feel safe, respected, and valued in the comfort of their own environment. With kindness and understanding, you will provide:

• Domestic Assistance – Supporting with household chores such as washing, ironing, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Meal Preparation – Assisting with planning, preparing, and cooking meals.
• Personal Care Support – Helping with showering, dressing, grooming, and other personal hygiene needs.
• Social Engagement – Providing companionship and encouraging participation in social activities and community engagement.
• Transport Services – Offering transport for appointments, shopping trips, and social outings.

What you’ll bring

What’s Required

• Valid NSW Driver’s Licence
• Reliable NSW C Class Motor Vehicle for travel between customer locations
• Current accredited First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations (highly recommended)
• Basic computer and smartphone literacy

What’s Preferred

• Previous experience in Home Care or Disability Support
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging, Home, and Community).
