Job summary

Advara HeartCare is seeking a Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to provide warm, professional administrative support across our Bundaberg Cardiology clinics. Travel between Advara HeartCare sites is required, with occasional short-term assignments at other practices when needed.

You will be the first point of contact for many patients, ensuring a smooth, respectful, and informed experience from the moment they walk through the door.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration or customer service, ideally in healthcare or aged care.
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients sensitively.
• Confidence in billing/receipting medical accounts (Medicare and DVA experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Managing appointment bookings, rescheduling, and patient communications
• Liaising with hospital staff, doctors, and clinical teams
• Checking patient GP referrals and Medicare data for accuracy
• Answering incoming calls promptly and professionally
• Processing billing and receipting for patient accounts, including Medicare and DVA
• Supporting the team with efficient use of our Health Track system
