Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking a Capital Works Programmer to develop and maintain annual and forward capital works programs for the city’s infrastructure assets.

You will use asset condition, risk, inspections and service requirements to prioritise renewal and upgrade projects, ensuring alignment with funding, capacity and priorities. You’ll lead Asset Officers and collaborate with engineering, finance and delivery teams to deliver practical programs.

Qualifications

• Have relevant qualifications in infrastructure, asset management, planning, project delivery or a related discipline.
• Have substantial experience in capital works planning, asset management or infrastructure programming.
• Can analyse asset condition, risk and service information to prioritise capital investment.
• Understand infrastructure asset lifecycle management and renewal planning.
• Have strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills.
• Are confident using asset management systems, GIS and Microsoft Office.
• Have well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Can lead and support a team while working effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain annual and forward capital works programs across Council's infrastructure assets.
• Use asset condition, risk, inspections and service requirements to identify and prioritise capital renewal and upgrade projects.
• Develop capital works programs that align with available funding, delivery capacity and Council priorities.
• Use asset management systems and data to inform programming and investment decisions.
• Support long-term asset lifecycle planning and alignment with Council's asset management strategies.
• Prepare programs, reports, briefings and recommendations to support effective decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, finance, asset management and delivery teams to ensure programs are practical and achievable.
• Lead and support Asset Officers, including allocating work, setting priorities and monitoring performance.
• Support governance, compliance, audit and reporting requirements relating to capital works and asset management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in capital works planning and programming.
