Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established Tier 2 commercial builder in Canberra for an experienced Senior Project Engineer.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate delivery, manage subcontractors, drive programmes, and ensure quality, safety, and commercial objectives are met.

With a strong project portfolio across commercial, education, government, health and mixed-use sectors, this role offers career progression and a supportive leadership team on site.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Experience as Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in commercial construction.
• Experience delivering projects valued at $30M+.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, programming, procurement and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project delivery across all stages of construction.
• Develop and monitor programmes, procurement schedules, and construction methods.
• Manage subcontractor performance, progress, and compliance.
• Drive quality assurance and ensure works meet specifications.
• Assist with cost control, forecasting, contract administration, and variations.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Mentor Project Engineers and Site Engineers on the project team.
• Ensure WHS, environmental, and legislative compliance.
