Job summary

nbn is hiring a Customer Field Technician in Canberra. You will work independently on installations, repairs, and maintenance across nbn technologies, installing copper or fibre cabling and setting up customer equipment. You’ll identify faults, support customers, and ensure safety and clear communication throughout the process.

Training is provided with all required tools and ongoing support. Working hours span 7am–7pm with flexible scheduling, and the role requires a current driver’s licence

Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications isn’t required — training will be provided.
• You should enjoy hands-on work and solving problems.
• You should be comfortable speaking with customers.
• A strong commitment to safety and clear communication is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, repairs and maintenance across multiple nbn technologies.
• Install copper or fibre cabling and set up customer equipment.
• Identify faults and fix them while keeping customers informed and supported.
• Work independently at customer premises within business hours (7am–7pm).
