Job summary

RUSU seeks an Events & Student Communities Officer (City/Carlton) to lead the planning and delivery of a diverse on-campus events program for students and volunteers. The role supports a range of activities including free lunch programs, student life events and community festivals.

The successful candidate will coordinate event logistics, manage volunteers and contribute to pop-up activities and excursions for student groups at RMIT campuses.

Qualifications

• At least two years full-time equivalent in a relevant events role in tertiary education, community or events sectors.
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate small/medium events including food-based events.
• Experience resourcing, supervising and mentoring volunteers.
• Knowledge of current trends in student events.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging events and food-based activities.
• Support and grow the student community events on City/Carlton campuses.
• Involve in event setup, crowd management, BBQs, serving food, and pop-up activities.
