Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking an experienced Campus Bar & Café Lead for our Westmead campus. You’ll lead a hands-on hospitality team, ensure warm, consistent service and support residents, families and staff with a welcoming café experience.

You’ll manage day-to-day cafe and bar operations, coach staff, respond to feedback and help implement new menus and service improvements while upholding food safety and WHS standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in hospitality, cafe, or similar customer-facing role.
• Proven ability to lead and coach cafe staff to deliver high service standards.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Barista experience and willingness to complete barista training; RSA in place or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming experience for residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Be a visible presence in the café, building relationships with customers.
• Lead by example and coach staff to maintain high service standards.
• Respond to feedback and identify practical ways to improve the café experience.
• Coordinate day-to-day cafe and bar service and set team priorities.
• Support operational workflows, resource use, stock awareness and service delivery.
• Maintain high standards for food, beverage presentation, cleanliness and menus.
• Support cafe events, resident functions and campus activities.
• Contribute to menu changes and service improvements.
• Support customer engagement, cafe utilisation and commercial performance.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with food safety, WHS and RSA requirements.
