Job summary

XS Espresso Austral, NSW is seeking an experienced Café Manager / Supervisor to lead the opening team at a brand-new location. You will drive daily service, build a cohesive team and establish cafe standards from day one.

If you know hospitality, love leading people and care about delivering exceptional guest experiences, you’ll help shape the culture and set the benchmark for coffee and service while growing with XS Espresso’s expanding hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Café Manager, Supervisor or Senior Café Team Member.
• Strong knowledge of café operations.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Strong understanding of customer service and hospitality.
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example.
• Genuine passion for creating great guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team during daily service.
• Supporting the Café Manager and wider management team.
• Maintaining high standards of coffee, food, service and presentation.
• Training, coaching and developing team members.
• Helping recruit and build the new Austral team.
• Creating a positive, energetic and supportive workplace.
• Ensuring the café is clean, organised and ready for every service.
• Managing daily opening and closing procedures.
• Monitoring stock levels, ordering and wastage.
• Helping control labour and operational costs.
• Maintaining food safety, workplace safety and company standards.
• Building relationships with regular guests and the local community.
• Leading from the front and being hands-on during busy periods.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the business and team performance.
