Job summary

XS Espresso – Wetherill Park is seeking an experienced Head Barista / Supervisor for a hands-on leadership role in a busy café. This full-time position offers $65,000–$72,000 plus Super and a chance to shape coffee standards across the team.

You will lead by example, train and coach baristas, oversee service, manage opening/closing, and build strong relationships with our local community while maintaining XS quality and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Experience as Head Barista or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee and espresso preparation.
• Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, energetic and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and set coffee and hospitality standards.
• Prepare consistently excellent coffee and uphold XS standards.
• Train, coach and develop baristas and team members.
• Supervise service and keep the café running smoothly.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness, presentation and café standards.
• Monitor coffee quality, stock levels and ordering needs.
• Support the Café Manager with daily operations.
• Build relationships with regular guests and the local community.
• Create a positive, energetic and supportive workplace.
• Identify opportunities to improve service and guest experience.
