We are seeking a warm, energetic Cafe Manager to lead and oversee our Café team and operations, delivering premium food and beverage experiences and ensuring seamless performance across our outlets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Cafe team and operations across two cafe outlets, and occasionally the Restaurant and Function Outlets.
• Ensure exceptional member and guest experiences are delivered to the highest standard.
• Identify and implement service improvements and drive revenue through events and menu offerings.
• Mentor, train and schedule staff to maintain strong performance levels.
• Produce financial reporting and analysis for cafe and cottage outlets.

The Royal Sydney Golf Club is a private members club which was founded in 1893. It is recognised nationally and internationally for its world class facilities which include sporting and hospitality, including our Fitness Centre Café which overlooks the breathtaking Rose Bay.

About the Role

We are seeking a warm and energetic Cafe Manager with a hands-on can-do attitude to lead and oversee our amazing Café team and operations. Working across our two Cafe outlets predominantly and on occasion our Restaurant and Function Outlets, you will be responsible for the seamless delivery of exceptional service to members, premium quality food & beverage experiences and seamless operational performance. You will be supported by a team of inspirational hospitality professionals around you.

You will be responsible for driving team leadership, maintaining high service standards, and enhancing member and guest satisfaction while supporting the overall commercial and operational objectives of the Food & Beverage department.

This is a full-time role requiring availability to work a flexible roster including early mornings during the week and on weekends and on occasions evenings.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Ensure exceptional member and guest experiences are delivered and are of the highest quality in line with Club standards.
• Identify and implement service improvements.
• Lead, mentor and train the team, ensuring effective staffing, scheduling, and strong performance levels, creating growth L&D opportunities.
• Collaborate on event promotions and menu offerings to drive revenue.
• Foster a culture of open communication, support and collaboration, ensuring alignment is reflective with Club Values.
• Responding efficiently and accurately to member complaints.
• Ensure the development of policies, standards and procedures for all aspects of the Cottage and Cafe areas.
• Be active on the floor and lead by example at all times.
• Assist members and guests during service including providing menu recommendations.
• Producing financial reporting and analysis of the cafes and cottage outlets.

Key Requirements

• Two years' experience in a similar role working in Cafes.
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of up to 20 staff.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, fostering strong relationships with members, staff and key stakeholders.
• Strong administration skills and working knowledge of computer software programs (MS Office & POS).
• Solid understanding of pricing, budgets and cost controls.
• Expertise in food and beverage pairings.
• Experience in Food & Beverage Dining and Function outlets (desirable)
• Food Hygiene Certification and NSW RSA qualification
• Working rights in Australia.
