Job summary

Royal Sydney in Rose Bay invites a Café Supervisor to join our two café outlets, supporting the Cafe Manager and delivering exceptional service, overseeing daily operations and staff training.

You will lead a dynamic team, manage rosters and timecards, ensure staff presentation, and assist with financial reporting and menu recommendations. This is a full‑time role requiring weekday and weekend flexibility.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Supervisor working in a Café.
• Strong leadership with experience managing up to 10 staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A valid NSW RSA is essential.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of policies, standards and procedures for Café outlets.
• Ensure service to members and guests is of the highest standard.
• Collaborate with Café Manager on staff rostering and timecard approvals.
• Maintain staff presentation and grooming in line with Club standards.
• Lead by example on the floor and assist with menu recommendations.
• Address member complaints and resolutions where possible.
• Support training programs to improve F&B knowledge and skills.
• Assist Café Manager with financial reporting and cafe analyses.

Royal Sydney is located in stunning Rose Bay and is fortunate to be considered one of Australia’s most prominent social and sporting institutions, having proudly hosted a number of world class sporting events including the Australian Open on 15 occasions and the 2011 Davis Cup. It is recognised nationally and internationally for its world class hospitality and sporting facilities which include two golf courses, 17 tennis courts, 1 pickleball court, bowling greens, croquet lawns, squash courts, snooker tables, a gym, swimming pools, cafes, club bar, restaurant and casual dining, accommodation rooms and multiple function rooms.

The Role

Reporting into the Assistant Cafe Manager you will work primarily within our two Café outlets assisting in maintain exceptional service standards, managing the daily operations, overseeing operational logistics, supporting management with ongoing training for staff and leading a dynamic team.

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work during the week and on weekends.
The key tasks include but are not limited to:

• Assist in the development of policies, standards and procedures for all aspects of the Cafe outlets.
• Ensure that the service provided to members and their guests is of the highest standard.
• Collaborate with the Cafe Manager with the rostering of staff and assisting with processing timecard approvals.
• Ensure that all staff are correctly attired and well groomed, at all times in line with Club standards.
• Be active on the floor and lead by example at all times.
• Assist members and guests during service including providing menu recommendations.
• Ensure that any member complaints are actioned and where possible resolved.
• Oversee, support and implement training programs to improve the team's food & beverage product knowledge and service skills.
• Assist the Café Manager with financial reporting & analysis of the cafes.

• Ability to prioritise workload, manage time and scheduled tasks whilst remaining adaptable to changing priorities.
• A valid NSW RSA is essential.
